Well, it’s official. I’ll be attending Book Con 2018 as PRESS!! I am beyond excited because I’ve been trying to get a press pass for this event for three years! But this year, my patience has finally been rewarded. I’ll be wandering through the Jacob Javits Center for two glorious days surrounded by book lovers, authors and BOOKS!! My credit card is going to be wrecked by the time the event is over and I won’t care. It’ll be worth it to have all of those shiny new books in my possession.
But on top of buying books until I can’t anymore, I’ll be in the presence of authors like Angie Thomas (The Hate U Give), Veronica Roth (the Divergent series), Becky Albertalli (Simon vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda), Nicola Yoon (Everything, Everything), David Baldacci (End Game) and Congressman John Lewis (March).
If you plan to attend, let me know! I would love to meet you! Book Con 2018 is going down June 2 and 3 at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City. For more info and to purchase tickets, click here.
I’ll also be attending a table reading with author Edwidge Danticat (The Farming of Bones) and actress Numa Perrier. The two will be reading the adapted screenplay of “Caroline’s Wedding,” a short story from Ms. Danticat’s collection entitled, Krik? Krak!.
The reading, presented by Well-Read Black Girl and hosted at Housing Works Bookstore Cafe, also in New York City, will be held on March 30 at 7pm. For tickets, go to Eventbrite’s website or click here.
See you there!!
