This is my first poetry review and what better way to start than with Every Word You Cannot Say.  The upcoming book from acclaimed poet Iain S. Thomas is one that will make your heart soar, your mind clear and your problems seem so much smaller, at least it did for me.

Like I said in a previous post, I’ve been wanting to read more poetry.  In Every Word You Cannot Say, Mr. Thomas writes a book of hope and love.  Not the sappy kind, but real world love.  Yes, things can go wrong, things may not turn out the way you want them to.  But that’s what life is all about.  But it also means you are LIVING.  Mr. Thomas’ poetry makes the reader feel seen and heard.  The subjects he writes about—love, sadness, growth, heartbreak, touching the lives of others, among other things—are based on human experiences, not fairy tales.  It is a book about renewal, even when it seems impossible.  It is a book about moving forward, even when the hurt is so bad it feels like it will break you in half.  With more and more people feeling anxious and alone, Mr. Thomas’ book is the one that we need right now.

When you pick up a copy of Every Word You Cannot Say (because I know you will), make sure you find a quiet place to read it so you can reflect on each word.  Take your time.  Don’t rush through it.  Let the words wash over you.  And once you’re done, put it someplace safe so it’s there when you need it again.  I highly recommend it.

Every Word You Cannot Say will be released on March 5, 2019.
