Saturday, April 27 is Independent Bookstore Day and the time for all of us to support our local bookstores. When was the last time you went to a bookstore, perused the aisles and found a book that turned into the one you couldn’t put down? The last bookstore I visited was The Lit. Bar in the Bronx (see my post about it here) and I bought almost $100 worth of books. With the official ribbon cutting and opening of The Lit. Bar this Saturday, it’s the perfect day to visit it and other stores in your neighborhood.
I’ll be missing most of the festivities due to a baby shower and if I did not love this person with all of my heart, I would be visiting as many bookstores as possible this Saturday. I may have time to visit a few places afterwards and, of course, buy some books. In the meantime, check the list of bookstores I found on a site called PopSpots NYC (link is here) and see if you can find a store in your neighborhood. If you’re outside of New York City, make sure to do your own research to find an independent bookstore in your area.
Below are just a few links to some of the bookstores I plan to visit before the day is over.
Enjoy and support your local bookstore!!
