I know it hasn’t been that long since I announced my hiatus while the site is being overhauled, but I had to take a break from everything to let you know that Harlem’s very own Dapper Dan will be releasing a memoir, titled Dapper Dan: Made in Harlem, the book we didn’t know we needed about his extraordinary life.
On July 10, Daniel Day aka Dapper Dan will grace us with his presence at the Brooklyn Academy of Music for what I am sure will be an interesting and engaging talk about being one of New York’s home-grown icons. Part of the Unbound literary series, in partnership with Greenlight Bookstore, Dapper Dan will expound on his rise from streetwear designer to hip-hop’s royalty, to his role at Gucci, one of the world’s most famous, and lately controversial, fashion houses.
Tickets are available now and can be purchased here. Get them now before they sell out. I’ll be there and will be posting on Twitter and Instagram. See you there!
